Happy New Year 2011

We just had our January meeting. I didn't get anything set up from the December meeting... But we had a great Christmas party. Weather has been the issue this winter. The night of our Christmas party there was blowing snow and not many we in attendance at our Christmas party. What a change from most years. Usually we are a packed house for the party. We still had plenty of goodies to share. Very little show and tell.
January has come and again few were in attendance tonight. We had about 24 people at our meeting. But show and tell was better. Judy and Doris shared quilts they had made in previous years with Christmas blocks won from the block exchange. Interesting/nice that they both chose to share them this month.
We talked about a retreat at the Riverdale lodge the first weeken in Feb. Hopefully an email will go out to members with this information, since it wasn't in the newsletter.
Applique blocks were given out to willing members for the 2011 raffle quilt. The quilt will be made from 30's fabrics. If you are willing to do a block, contact Peggy Cahoon. We will have a raffle quilt work day, January 22. We would like many members to help with putting this togther. We can continue to sew for the rest of the day at city hall.
